| Both Dianne Hunt and Greg Luce began
their careers in the affordable housing industry in 1978,
Dianne with a property development/management company and
Greg as a property developer. The affordable housing community
is relatively small, particularly in Idaho where Syringa Property
Management is based, and they became acquainted in the course
of their respective business dealings.
At an Idaho Housing
and Finance Conference in 1987, Greg and Dianne began discussing
the need for honest dealings and ethical management practices
in the federal housing arena with a fellow colleague, Gary
Machacek. These discussions between the three acquaintances
continued until 1989 when it was decided that a partnership
should be formed. Syringa Property Management, Inc. was formed
with Greg, Dianne, and Gary as the original incorporators
in July of that year. Eventually Gary left the company to
pursue his own development career requesting that Syringa
still oversee all of his current and future projects.
That partnership still exists today.
The goal of Syringa
Property Management was to become the most knowledgeable management
company throughout all of the federal housing programs by
providing excellent management fairly to its clients.
From its humble beginnings with Dianne focusing on the management
aspects of the company (along with a single, part-time employee)
and Greg concentrating on development, Syringa has grown consistently
from seven developments to 80+ properties. Today Syringa
Property Management is the most active affordable housing
manager in Idaho, also managing properties in six other western
states. It is through its founders' vision of continuing
focus on evenhanded management practices, conscientious study
of ever-changing federal housing regulations, and overall
superior performance that Syringa continues to expand its
management stronghold within the affordable housing community. |
